INSTALLATION OF NEW COMPUTERS BY MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT
1ST AUGUST, 2012
Sri. M. K. Raghavan, the Member of Parliament, inaugurated the newly installed computers of the computer lab. The Local Manager Sr. Sheena, Our Headmistress Sr. M. Rosarita A. C., P.T.A President Mrs. Sonia Joseph and P.T.A members were present during the occasion. Tr. Anila welcomed the gathering and Sr. M. Rosarita A. C., Headmistress presented bouquet to the chief guest.
VERONICA VIVENS MEGA QUIZ

In connection with the Sesquicentennial Celebrations of St. Joseph’s
Anglo – Indian Girls’ H. S. S, Calicut ,the Mega finals of the
Veronica Vivens Quiz Competition 2012 organised by Dreamz Infotainment was held
at St. Joseph’s Anglo – Indian Girls’ H. S. S. on 27.07.2012.
St. Joseph’s Anglo – Indian G.H.S.S made a wild card entry in the final round. After a brainstorming session, Loyola School, Tvm emerged winners bagging a prize money of Rs.20,000/- each.
The competition was followed by a grand prize distribution ceremony presided by Mrs. Mary Rhita, District Educational Officer and Mr. Ajaya Kumar P, Deputy Director of Education delivered the inaugural address. Mr. P. J. Joshua, Senior Co – ordinating Editor was the chief guest. Dr. Sr. Ancilla, Principal, Providence women’s College felicitated the winners. Headmistress Sr. M. Rosarita A. C. welcomed the dignitaries and P.T.A President Sonia Joseph proposed the vote of thanks.

NORTHERN ZONE VERONICA VIVENS QUIZ

In connection
with the Sesquicentennial Celebrations of St. Joseph’s Anglo – Indian Girls’ H.
S. S, Calicut ,the Calicut Regional Round of the Veronica Vivens Quiz
Competition 2012 organised by Dreamz Infotainment was held at St. Joseph’s
Anglo – Indian Girls’ H. S. S. on 11.07.2012. Participants of the North Zone
were from Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Malapuram Districts.Of the
203 teams that registered, 6 teams comprising of 2 members each were screened
after the first round. They were Sacred Hearts School, Kottakkal, St. Joseph’s
Boys H. S. S, Kozhikode, Kunnamangalam H. S. S, Namprathukara U. P School,
Quilandy, Presentation H. S. S, Kozhikode and St. Paul’s English Medium H. S.
S, Tenhipalam.
After a stiff competition, the 2
teams that qualified to represent Calicut for the Mega Final Round are Keerthi
Suresh and Abin Varghese of Class X of Sacred Hearts School, Kottakkal and
Alvin A and Ananth Krishna S of Class X of St. Joseph’s Boys H. S. S, Kozhikode.
Keerthi
Suresh was declared the outstanding
quizzer and Ananth Krishna S, the champion of the camp. Amal Damodar and Sriram
Unnithan of Class VIII of St. Paul’s H. S. S, Tenhipalam were judged the most
enthusiastic quizzers and Sacred Hearts School, Kottakkal won the prize for
promoting Kerala Quiz by contributing highest number of student quizzers in
Kerala.

INTER SCHOOL SAHITHYA QUIZ
29TH JUNE, 2012
The Inter School Sahithya Quiz was conducted on 29th June as a part of the Sesquicentennial Celebration in the school. Many schools including st. Joseph's A.I.G.H.S.S, St. Angelas A.U.P School, savio Devagiri H.S.S, Himayathul H.S.S and Nadakkavu G.H.S.S participated in this informative yet quite interesting quiz programme. This quiz programme was organized by the Sesquicentennial Committee of the School.
The District Educational Officer (D.E.O) Smt. S Mary Rhita inaugurated the function and distributed scholarships to the deserving students.

ANTI NARCOTIC DAY

On 25th June we observed Anti Narcotic Day in our school. To spread awareness among children that the intake of narcotic substances are harmful to health, a common oath was taken during the general assembly. A rally was also organised by the school. Students displayed placards about dangers awaiting the ones who use drugs.
