ORIENTATION CLASSES
Science club organized a class for the parents and students on the
topic of dietary habits in children by Mrs.Sherin Varghese dietician of MIMS
hospital, Calicut.
Dr.NarayanakuttyWarrier, Oncologist educated the staff of
our school and neighbouring schools on the early detection of cancer and
its prevention.
A presentation high
lighting problems faced by adolescents and personal hygiene was made by Dr. K.
Ranjini, Gynaecologist of Ashoka Hospital.
The students through a rally pressed
the need for a narcotic free society,
warning the younger generation to free themselves from this racket.
ECO CLUB ACTIVITIES
In order to observe the environment day on 5th June, Eco club of the high school and higher secondary sections conducted an interesting debate on the topic ‘Nuclear energy: boon or a curse’ which highlighted environmental protection through a green economy. The Eco club members went for a field trip to Wayanad as a part of the World Environment Day (WED) celebration.
Environmentalist Dr.Sathyan Meppayyur and Prof.Shobindranath provided a different learning experience with their awareness classes on how to preserve nature and by planting a tree in the school – ‘Sneha Virksham’. Dr.Harinarayanan M.K. of Sree Krishna College, Guruvayoor through ‘Nattarivu’, enlightened the students on how nature can heal us.

ENERGY CLUB INAUGURATION
In order to be good and effective mentors, the teachers where given an orientation class by Dr. Sanadhanan (HOD – Department of Economics, St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri) in May 2011. To inculcate scientific temperament in children, various clubs are functioning at school level.
The Energy club of our school in collaboration with the state project, which commenced on 1st August and concludes on 31st March aims at ‘Ithiri Oorjam Nalekai’. The activities of the club members awaken the need to consume less energy using innovative techniques. They teach society the value of saving energy for the future. This is certainly a clarion call for us to use energy wisely.
